29 years in the medical field Certified Coder - CCS-P through AHIMA, CPC though AAPC, CMBS through Medical Billers Association and EMS – Mastery level of Evaluation and Management Coding through AAPC . Teaching ICD-9/CPT and Insurance Billing for 9 years at local community colleges. Worked in hospital setting for 8 years.

Worked in multi-specialty setting for 14 years as Director of Coding, HIPAA, Compliance and Urgent Care. Developed and implemented HIPAA and Compliance Plans. 6 years of Chart Auditing experience. Click here for more information.

Sally Wadlington, CPC, MHCS
Instructor

Sally has worked in the healthcare field for 34 years. During this 34 years she has worked in positions that include receptionist, transcriptionist, billing specialist, manager and administrator for a large multi-specialist physician office in Loveland, Colorado. She received her Masters of Healthcare Sciences in 1998. Since her retirement in 2004, she has been consulting and teaching medical billing and coding.

 

Sharyn Pisano, CMRS
Administrative Assistant

Has been the administrative assistant for Career Coders since November 2005, after completing the Introduction to Billing and Coding class with Melody Irvine. She has previous experience in fund accounting, with TPA insurance companies, auditing, management experience, and has worked in transcription support at McKee Medical Center. She has spent and cherished most of her time as a stay at home mother for her two children, which she adores. Sharyn moved here from Pennsylvania 21 years ago, she loves skiing, and vacationing with her family.

Linda Kautz
Medical Terminology Instructor

Linda earned her Bachelor's degree in Microbiology/Medical Technology from Colorado State University.  She worked in medical laboratories in Denver, Holyoke, and Sterling before taking a sabbatical to be a full-time mom.  Along the way, she began teaching science courses at a home-school organization in Greeley, where she's taught for the last 14 years.  Linda teaches Medical Terminology, a natural outgrowth of her medical background and her interest in science.  Linda spends a lot of time volunteering at her church, and enjoying her six dogs.

Brenton White
Computer Basics Instructor

Brenton White teaches Computer Basics, an introduction to Windows and Microsoft Office 2003.  He also works at Agilent Technologies, Inc. as a Web Architect and Webmaster.  His degree is in Physics and he has worked with computers since they were "carved" from stone.  He enjoys traveling, mostly cruising, and walking with his dog, Mickey.

What can we say?  Just look at those faces.  Mikko, the Toy Poodle is the Career Coders greeter and all around FUN guy.  Marley, the Yorkie, is the sweet little guy that keeps Mikko company!
